28 weeks

By this week, your baby weighs a little over 2 pounds and measures about 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. Her fat layers are continuing to build up as she gets ready for life outside the womb. The big news this week is that your baby can open and close her eyes — which now sport full lashes. This movement is more of a reflexive blink than a deliberate opening and closing, but it won't be long before she's batting those beauties at you.

27 weeks

How your baby's growing: Your baby is really starting to fill up your uterus. This week she weighs 2 pounds and is about 14.4 inches long with her legs extended. She can now open and close her eyes, and she sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. She may suck her fingers, and although her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if she were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to her, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what she's thinking?

Things are progressing quickly...time is just flying by! I'm feeling well, aside from the back aches, swollen feet and hands and tiring easily. Almost to the homestretch. Next week marks the beginning of the 3rd trimestester. I had an appointment on tuesday and I finally had a weight gain. The whole time I've been losing and then maintained a 27lb loss, but this time I was up 4 lbs. Now my appointments will be every 2 weeks until the ninth month.

How your baby's growing: Your baby now weighs around 2 pounds and measures about 14 inches, from head to heel. The nerve pathways in her ears are developing, which means her response to sounds is growing more consistent. Her lungs are developing now, too, as she continues to take small breaths of amniotic fluid — good practice for when she's born and takes that first breath of air.

100 days to go!

It doesn't seem possible that nearly six months has gone by...time flies huh?! I'm starting to become familiar with her patterns of movement and I hope it's not an indication of her sleep patterns when she's born. If so, then I'm in for a night owl! Everything is still going smooth and well.

Alot of you have been asking where I'm registered so I thought I'd go ahead and post it on here. We are registered at target.com and you can look it up under Bridget Pratt or Matt Meece and I've started one at babiesrus.com but don't have much on it yet. That one is under both of our names as well.

25 weeks

How your baby's growing: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 14 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — doesn't sound like much, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. Her hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after she's born
